Bergfabel creates clothing to be lived in. Each garment reflects the heart, heritage and deep connection to the nature of their birthplace in the South Tyrol region of Northern Italy.

“Bergfabel” comes from the German words for “mountain” and “folktale”. Our website design reflected this fusion of timeless heritage and contemporary spirit by taking our inspiration from the structure and layout of book design. Each collection is viewed as a seasonal tale expressing the narrative of connections to the natural landscape.

Pairing contemporary design with age-old production techniques Bergfabel brings together the quiet strength of Japanese and Italian fabrics handcrafted by small local ateliers and artisans. Klaus Plank, the founder and designer, develops fabrics through a creative collaboration with selected mills and designs the collection alongside a small team. To communicate this creative process we introduced a tactile feel to the website through physical artefacts and imagery, laid out as if stuck up on the walls of their Lucca atelier.
