As Dover Street Market evolved over time a website had been created for each new location alongside an e-commerce site which was duplicated for three global regions.
Working with the DSM digital team and their incumbent digital agency, our starting point was to rationalise and simplify the complex structure. Over time inconsistencies and anomalies had crept into the various sites. After discussions the decision was made to maintain each of the shop specific sites, each location having it’s own unique activities and mix of brands, and to create one e-commerce site which adapted to the region of the user.
Key to the project was to maintain some of the idiosyncrasies and personality of the original site to reflect the unique approach of the physical spaces. Working within the Dover Street Market (DSM) visual identity our focus was to evolve, simplify and refine the user experience, paying attention to smallest details. Specific attention was paid to the mobile experience to reflect the different requirements and ease of use for the user on this device.
Following the launch of the e-commerce site we are working with the DSM team to update the websites for each of the physical Dover Street Markets.
