Pagostas — Identity

Pagostas — Selected Work
Info
Pagostas is a guest house on the Greek island of Patmos built by Parthenios Pagostas in 1597 which takes inspiration from the Greek idea of philoxenia, welcoming guests in one’s home.
Our identity took inspiration from the architectural detailing above the concealed entrance and the typography discovered in an archive publication recording the historic buildings of Patmos.
Within each room we designed a note pad to encourage guests to record their time at Pagostos, on the first few pages we reproduced a map of walks around the island, the breakfast shopping list and the classic Greek poem Kepia. Further inside is a sketch of swifts that return to nest each year.
