Tuckey Design Studio (formally Jonathan Tuckey Design) is widely regarded as one of the UK’s foremost adaptive reuse and sustainable new build architecture practices.

Our initial brief was to communicate and recognise the wider role and expertise of the studio beyond founder Jonathan Tuckey. Partnering with strategic communications agency SALT, we proposed a number of naming suggestions based on interviews and insights from valued clients and friends.

From this starting point, we developed a logotype, an identity system which we applied across all studio documentation and a new website. Central to this was the expression of the personality and approach of the studio through the level of craft and attention to detail that they applied to all their buildings and interiors. We wanted to communicate not only the finished projects but the process behind, and the experience of, working with the studio.

As part of the new identity we designed a quarterly printed newsletter which focused on a specific material that was key to one of their projects, and which brought together other creatives and craftspeople working with the same materials.
